In Memory of Sarah Nader (nee Hamaty)
A life well lived and a woman very much loved by all who met her.
Born in Houtzdale, Pennsylvania May 8, 1912 and died peacefully at 107 on May 1, 2020 in Media, Pennsylvania
Sarah loved to laugh and had an infectious smile. Well into her 90's, she was unbeatable at ping pong, loved to make chocolate candies, was an avid walker, and always cheered for the Philadelphia Phillies.
Sarah is predeceased by her husband William Nader whom she adored. One of their hobbies was participating in a bowling league. They lived in Concordville Pennsylvania for many years, with their beloved dog Pepe. Prior to meeting Bill, Sarah served in World War II as a Sergeant in the Women's Army Corps. Following her service, she worked as a supply chain expert at the Defense Supply Agency. Bill and Sarah owned a haberdashery store in South Philadelphia. Following BIll's passing, Sarah moved to Granite Farms Estates in Media as one of its first residents when it opened.
She is also predeceased by her parents Mary Hyder Hamaty and Jabour Hamaty, and by all of her siblings Anne Hamaty, Martha Hamaty, Faye Hamaty Connolly (Arthur Connolly), Michael Hamaty (Annabelle Hamaty), Simon Hamaty (Helen Saddic Hamaty), John Hamaty, and George Hamaty.
Sarah is survived by nieces and nephews Dolores Connolly Whitehurst (Philip Whitehurst), Richard Connolly, Georgette Hamaty (George V. Schaefer), George Hamaty (Sonia Hamaty); 7 great nieces and great nephews Paul Belanger, Martine Belanger Decamp, Brian Connolly, Peter Connolly, Alexandra Macbeth, Jacob Hamaty, Brooke Hamaty; and 10 great, great nieces and great, great nephews.
