Winifred (née Fitzpatrick) Navas, age 93, died peacefully at home with her daughter by her side on February 9, 2023. Winifred was the loving wife of the late Alfred Hugo Navas who preceded her in death in 1989.  She was a wonderfully devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Born and raised in West Philadelphia, Winifred attended St. Agatha School and Bok Vocational High School in South Philadelphia.  She met the love of her life, Alfred, and the two were married at St. Clements Church in Southwest Philadelphia. They settled in Broomall where they raised their two daughters, Jamie and Rosemary.  Always supportive of her children and her Catholic community, Winifred volunteered as a lunchroom mother and with St. Pius X altar society for many years.

Winifred was an expert on the sewing machine, an avid gardener, her tomatoes were a favorite, and beach lover, spending many of her summers down the shore with her toes in the sand and a cup of coffee in her hand. She was a civil servant, every election day for forty years she would show up with a thermos full of coffee to do her civic duty as a poll worker.

In addition to her husband, Winifred was preceded in death by her three siblings Mary (née Fitzpatrick) Rooney, James Fitzpatrick, and Joseph Fitzpatrick.

She is survived by her daughters Jamie Navas Roller (Jay Roller) of Media and Rosemary G. Navas of Springfield; three grandchildren Caitlin Navas Roller, Avery Navas Roller, and Gavin Alfred O'Hara; and one great-grandson Hugo Derrick.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, March 24, 2023 at St. Pius X Church, 220 Lawrence Rd. Broomall. Friends and family may call in the church from 9-10 am. Mass will begin at 10:00 am.
