Obituary

It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of William “Billy” Wood, who left us far too soon. A devoted father, loving grandfather, favorite uncle, cherished brother, and loyal friend, Billy lived his life as a masterclass in kindness, hard work, and dedication to those he loved.

William Wood, affectionately referred to as “Billy,” “Bill,” “Woodsy,” “Dad,” and “TuPop” (by his grandchildren) passed away at the young age of 52 on June 11, 2026.

Billy started his adventure on earth on March 4, 1974 when he was born to Katherine (Ragazzino) Wood.

Billy was a big fan of cracking jokes (and laughing at his own jokes). His laughter was like music filling the room.

Billy had an unmatched work ethic. Current and past employers, along with co-workers who became friends over the span of his career, all characterized Billy as an exceedingly dedicated worker with incredible talents as an electrician as well as a carpenter. When Billy took a break, it was to spend it with family or enjoying his beloved hobby of fishing. On days when he could fish with his family, while listening to the Grateful Dead—well that was the ultimate blessing to him!

His hard work did not end with his “real job” as he was always more than happy to lend a helping hand to friends and strangers alike. He was a heartfelt listener who accepted people right where they were.

Billy was a huge fan of the Dollar Store (before it became the $1.25 store—which he proclaimed as a real scam). He also loved snacking on Swedish Fish and sipping tea coolers. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and friends, close and far. Billy was exceptionally proud of all of his children, who he referred to as his “bears”, as well as his niece and nephew. He delighted in each of their accomplishments. He was known to send off a sweet text just to say he loved you or to make sure you knew how proud he was of you.

Billy is survived by his long-term partner, Deidre Palio, sister Katherine Weber (Christian); daughter Casey Orr (Douglas); daughter Nicole Favazza-Welch (Tyler); daughter Danielle Carnevale; son William Wood; nephew Andrew Weber; niece Julia Weber; granddaughter Leyla Neilson; granddaughter Abigail Welch; grandson Joshua Welch, his best and lifelong friend George Staats, who he loved as a brother, and more close family and friends he cherished deeply.

Billy was predeceased by his parents, Katherine Wood and Joseph Keville.

Billy’s incomparable legacy of kindness and loyalty will be missed but moreover remain in the hearts of his family and friends forever.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Billy’s name to PAWS, as he loved animals, caring for strays and was a supporter of pet adoption.

A visitation for Billy will be held on Friday, June 26th from 330pm-4pm with a memorial service to immediately follow at 4pm at the Presbyterian Church of Llanerch at 211 Lansdowne Road in Havertown, Pennsylvania.
