William Charles Hurwitz

January 10, 1971 – August 10, 2020

William Hurwitz, age 49, of Drexel Hill, PA, passed away suddenly on Monday, August 10, 2020.

Will was a life long resident of Drexel Hill.  He graduated from Upper Darby High School in 1989.

He had a passion for heavy metal music and attended many concerts throughout his lifetime.  Slayer was one of his favorite bands.  He was a fan of the Chicago Blackhawks, Pittsburgh Steelers, WWE wrestling and Nascar's Kevin Harvick, Dale Earnhardt, and Dale Earnhardt Jr. He enjoyed watching 'That 70s Show', 'Two and a Half Men', 'Sons of Anarchy', and horror movies.

He loved being a Dad, Pop Pop, and Uncle. He always looked out for his family and friends.  He made them laugh often with unique comments and catch phrases that became sayings among the people closest to him.

Will, fondly known as Mr. Will, worked for the Upper Darby School District for over 30 years as a maintenance worker. For 17 of those years up until now he served as the custodian at Hillcrest Elementary School, where he was well loved by all the staff, students, and families in the community.

Will was predeceased by his father, Edward Hurwitz, Grandparents, Morton and Gertrude Hurwitz, and Nicholas and Paraskevi Prokovas.

He is survived and will be forever remembered and deeply missed everyday by his three daughters, Alyssa Culpepper, Pamela Hurwitz, and Haelle Platzer.

Also survived by Mother, Kortesa Prokovas, sisters, Laurie Hurwitz, and Donna Freas, his nephews Nicholas Campson, Sean Patrick and Ryan Freas, and his sweet Granddaughter Evangeline Culpepper.

Relatives and friends are invited to his graveside ceremony on Friday, August 21st at 10:30 am at Glenwood Memorial Gardens (section R) located at 2321 West Chester Pike, Broomall, PA 19008.

Please social distance and a face covering is required. Formal attire NOT required. Black clothing, concert shirts, or Hillcrest spirit wear are welcome.
