William
Eisenhart
d. Jan 11, 2026
Bill Eisenhart concluded his compassionate life on January 11, 2026 after 78 years filled with love, laughter, and memories.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wynne & Kirby Eisenhart, sister, Betsy Hirsch, and brother, John Eisenhart. He leaves behind his wonderful wife of 56 years, Maryann, a beloved daughter via adoption, Joanna Zavalanski (Andrew), treasured granddaughter, Anneliese, sister-in-law Linda Eisenhart (John), nieces, nephews, friends, and thousands of students he has taught over his years as an educator.
Bill joined Rose Tree Fire Company at the age of 16 and continuously belonged to a fire company until his death. He was a lifetime member of Middletown Fire Company and Aston Township Fire Department and was even active with the Union Hose Company at Lebanon Valley College (where he met Maryann) while getting his teaching degree.
Bill started his career as an educator at Glenwood School on Pennell Rd. in Media and later retired from this career teaching Math and English for the Chester Upland School District. Within that time, he also taught at the Delaware County Prison. When he was no longer able to teach, he loved driving a school bus until his health no longer permitted.
He was an avid dog lover and took with him fond, loving memories of every dog he owned. He enjoyed every moment he could with Maryann at their lake house, going to casinos, reading books, and eventually, after becoming Fire Police Captain, took immense pride in trying to protect every Fire Fighter he encountered. Bill made it his life achievement to help as many people as he could, in any capacity possible.
His story telling and infectious laughter will be missed by anyone that had the pleasure to witness.
Friends, Family, and all loved ones will be received from 5:00-8:00 pm. Friday, January 16, 2026, and 9:30-10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 17, 2026 at Rigby Harting & Hagan Funeral Home 15 E. 4th St. Media, PA, 19063. A service will immediately follow at 10:30 am. A party (Bill style) will be held at Middletown Fire Station after a procession to honor Bill's time served with the Fire Police.
In lieu of flowers, Bill would appreciate contributions be made to the St. Jude's Children's Hospital .
