In Loving Memory of Thomas Otis Currier, Jr.
January 12, 1948 – July 24, 2026

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Thomas Otis Currier, Jr., who peacefully passed away on July 24, 2026, at Riddle Hospital, surrounded by the love of his children.

Born on January 12, 1948, in Bremerton, Washington, Tom was raised in Revere, Massachusetts, where he developed the strong work ethic, integrity, and compassion that would define his life. He later made his home in Media, Pennsylvania, where he became a respected businessman and cherished member of the community.

Tom was the proud owner of Mother’s Hearth Health Food Store in Media, a business that reflected his lifelong commitment to health, wellness, and helping others. A hardworking entrepreneur, devoted provider, and righteous man, he lived by his principles and led by example. His greatest accomplishment, however, was being a father. His children always knew they were deeply loved, supported, and encouraged.

Tom embraced life with curiosity and enthusiasm. He loved the open road and found immense joy traveling throughout the United States with his family, discovering new places, and making lifelong memories along the way. He treasured camping adventures, preparing meals for family and friends, tending his garden, studying Japanese Nine Star Ki and Chinese astrology, and living the principles of macrobiotics. Music was always close to his heart, and no artist resonated with him more than Bob Dylan, whose lyrics reflected the thoughtfulness and independent spirit that Tom admired. He also never tired of watching The Blues Brothers, a favorite film that never failed to make him smile.

Those who knew Tom will remember his quiet strength, unwavering integrity, generous heart, and remarkable work ethic. He taught by example that a meaningful life is built on honesty, perseverance, compassion, and devotion to family. His wisdom and gentle guidance continue to live on in those who loved him.

Tom is lovingly survived by his daughter, Heather Carlin and her husband, Paul Carlin; his son, Jonathan Currier; and his cherished granddaughter, Hadley Carlin, who brought him endless pride and joy. He is also survived by his sister, Nanette Madden of Beverly, Massachusetts. Tom was one of seven siblings and was preceded in death by his six brothers and sisters, all of whom remained an important part of his life and memories.

Although our hearts are broken by his passing, we are profoundly grateful for the years we shared with him. His legacy is found not only in the business he built or the places he traveled, but in the kindness he showed, the lessons he taught, the laughter he shared, and the unconditional love he gave to his family. We will carry his memory with us always, hearing Bob Dylan’s songs, smiling through another viewing of The Blues Brothers, and remembering a man who lived with conviction, generosity, and a heart full of love.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Tom's life on Friday, August 7th at Rigby Harting & Hagan Funeral Home, 15 E. Fourth St. Media, PA 19063. There will be a calling hour from beginning at 10 am followed by a memorial service at 11 am.
