Taylor Joseph Miles, Sr., age 81, a resident of Ridley Township, died at Riddle Hospital on December 15, 2023.  A beloved father and grandfather, Taylor will be deeply missed by his loving family.

Son of the late James T. Miles and Elizabeth J. Butts (née Dougherty), Taylor spent his formative years in Woodlyn, PA. He was a graduate of Ridley High Class of 1962. Mr. Miles began his career with Phoenix Steel in Claymont, DE where he worked for nearly twenty years. He later became an electrician with the Philadelphia Navy Yard and ultimately retired after five years as a maintenance tech at Albert's Organics.

Taylor loved freshwater fishing and was an excellent bowler.  He enjoyed taking trips to the casino, but above all, he treasured time spent with his loving family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Taylor was preceded in death by his loving wife, Roseann M. Gloster, and his brother, Gary R. Butts.

He is survived by his children Leslie M. Butler (Edward) of Ridley, Taylor J. Miles II of Brigham City, UT, and Kathleen S. Butler (William) of Media. He is survived by 9 grandchildren Robert Edward Love III, Amanda L. Patterson, Samantha J. Butler, Taylor Joseph Miles III, Nicholas P. Miles, David J. Miles, Kathy L. Bunting, Thomas H. Butler, and James W. Butler along with 12 great-grandchildren. Also survived by siblings Iris J. Wilson (Jack) of Port Orange, FL and Lois E. Boatwright (George) of Elkton, MD.

Mr. Miles' Memorial Service will be celebrated on January 12th at Rigby Harting & Hagan Funeral Home. Family and friends may call from 10-11 am. The service will begin at 11 am with burial to follow at Media Cemetery.
