Obituary

Susan Marie Todorow (née Simmons) died peacefully at home surrounded by her children on October 18th, 2022 at the age of 94.

Susan was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on May 2nd, 1928 to James and Susan (née Farley) Simmons. She grew up with two younger sisters, Kathleen and Mary.  Susan jumped at any chance to get to the shore and be by the water. Throughout her life, Susan was a steadfast advocate that the ocean was the best medicine capable of curing most ailments. Following graduation from high school in 1946, Susan went on to work in the audit department at Bell Telephone in downtown Philadelphia.

In 1954, Susan married Walter ("Walt") Todorow. Shortly thereafter they moved to Media, Pennsylvania where they raised their seven children. She was a loving mother who leveraged her incredible sense of humor to juggle the many duties required of raising four boys and three girls.

After her children grew older, Susan worked in sales at various local store and volunteered on election days at the polls. She was an active parishioner at Nativity B.V.M. from her move to Media in 1956 until her death. Throughout her life, Susan remained an avid baseball fan, cheering her beloved Phillies. She instilled a love of competition amongst her children and grandchildren, especially when it came to playing pinochle.  She enjoyed horse racing as well, particularly the Kentucky Derby. Her family was always paramount and she was often telling stories from yesteryear. She was known as "Super Sue" or simply "Super" by much of her family.

She was predeceased by her husband Walter Todorow, her daughter Susan Rohrman (Greg), infant grandson Ryan Peloquin and her sisters, Mary Conrad and Kathleen Kelly. She is survived by her children Walter (Sally), Thomas (Kristen), Patricia Peloquin (Dennis), Christopher, Mary Ellen Rodgers (Ron), and Matthew (Linda), as well as 18 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. She was a loving wife, sister, mother and Grammy, and a giving friend to many and will be greatly missed.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 22nd at Nativity BVM in Media.  Friends may call in the church from 9:30 - 10:45. Mass will begin at 11:00 am. Burial to follow at SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery.
