Obituary

Solomon "Sam" Ginsburg, recently of Drexel Hill and formerly of Collingdale, passed away on July 4, 2023 at the age of 78.

One of six children born to the late Louis and the late Mary (née Cuniff) Ginsburg, Sam spent his childhood years in Philadelphia.  After graduating from West Catholic High School, he embarked upon his long career with the PA National Guard eventually retiring as a Major. Over the years, Sam helped his brother with his appliance repair business. He worked as a teacher at Bok Vocational High School for over a decade where he developed lasting friendships with his colleagues.

Sam enjoyed working on puzzles and was a devoted Philadelphia sports fan. He had a great appreciation for cars and loved getting behind the wheel to go anywhere. His family and friends were very important to him, and he treasured time spent with them.

Sam was preceded in death by his brother, Joseph Ginsburg; his sisters, Mary Ann Floyd and Anna Koch-McDevitt; and his nephew, Kevin S. Koch.

He is survived by his sisters, Ruth Ginsburg of Media and Pauline Scrupskis (Dennis) of Port St. Lucy, FL, sixteen nieces and nephews, and many great-nieces and nephews.
