Sandy Harkins: Obituary

Sandy Harkins, 67, of Ridley, PA, passed away on January 13, 2020 with her four loving daughters by her side.

She was born to Dorothy and James Harkins on April 12, 1952 in Philadelphia, PA. Sandy graduated from St. Maria Goretti High School in South Philadelphia. Sandy worked as an administrative assistant, throughout her life, but she considered her most important job to be a mother and grandmother. Sandy is survived by her four daughters: Jenny Hartey, Becky Soper (Bob), Chrissy Soper (Bill), and Stacey Williams (Mike). She is also survived by her brothers, Jim (Marianne), and Richard. She is predeceased by her parents (Dot and Jim) and her granddaughter, Ella.

Her pride and joy were her eight beautiful grandchildren, who she loved beyond measure: Bobby Soper, Brendan Soper, Leann Soper, Billy Soper, Ryleigh Soper, Christopher Soper, Ethan Williams, and Ella Williams. Sandy "Nana" was there for her grandchildren in every way. She did everything from helping with homework after school every day to making their birthday treats to watching movies and playing Nintendo Switch. Nana loved supporting her grand kids at their school events and concerts and was their #1 fan on the sidelines of every game.

Sandy loved summer vacations with her family, and her favorite place was the beach. She would look forward to our yearly Sea Isle trip and would sit on the beach for hours.

Sandy lived a life of spreading love and kindness to everyone who had the fortune to be in her presence. She often told her girls and grandchildren "In a world where you can be anything, be kind" and she led her life exemplifying that motto. Sandy will truly be missed by so many.
