Obituary

Samantha Joyce Geromichalos, Age 35 of Media Pa, gained her wings and entered into her eternal life on February 17, 2026.   Samantha passed away from complications from Cystic Fibrosis and her double lung transplant in 2014.

Samantha was born on September 5, 1990 in Philadelphia Pennsylvania and was raised in Upper Darby and Media, Pennsylvania.

Samantha attended St. Cyril of Alexandria elementary school located in East Lansdowne Pa, where she was proudly taught by IHM Sisters - It was here like many other parts of Delco, she made life long friends. She then attended Cardinal O'Hara High School located in Springfield, Pa where she made lasting friendships and some of the best memories. Samantha was always O'Hara proud.

Samantha had a passion for volunteering and found her greatest joys in volunteering at Camilla Hall Convent nursing home where she cared for the infirmed IHM sisters. After her transplant in 2014 Samantha had a calling to be a hospice volunteer, and joined Compassus. She wanted to bring joy, comfort and companionship to those who were at the end of life. Samantha eventually became the Compassus volunteer coordinator, a position she held with honor and compassion.

Samantha enjoyed working, at 14, she started at a toy shop followed by being the host at diners where she loved to get to know people and their stories. Her greatest joy came more recently when she became a bridal consultant for The Dress Matters located in Springfield, Pa. She loved helping people create the magic of their wedding day. It is here where she was able to try on and model all the wedding dresses, it was a dream come true for her.

Samantha cherished her faith, her family and her friends. She enjoyed vacationing with her family in Greece and traveling to warm sunny places. She loved her dogs Abby & Ginger, fashion and make-up, reading books, her Cadillac, and her sandy bottom Imperial Pizza. She was proud of her Greek heritage, and proud of her Delco accent. She was a prolific writer and expert editor.

When Samantha received her new lungs in 2014, she wanted to honor her donor by living every moment to the fullest while making memories.

A special thank you to all those that were part of "the team" to journey throughout this life with Samantha.

Also a special thank you to the team at University of Penn, her CF/transplant team, all departments and most especially Silverstein 9 nurses and staff for the quality care and compassion given to our Samantha.

Samantha was preceded in death by Virginia Ferguson(Grandmom), George Geromichalos(Uncle), survived by Dionysios "Dan" Geromichalos(Father) and Constance(Ferguson) Geromichalos(Mother), Thomas Geromichalos(brother) and his wife Kim, Anastasios and Eleni Geromichalos(Grandparents), Tom Ferguson (Uncle) Godson Curtis Campbell, many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and cherished Friends.

Samantha's message to all of us is to hold strong onto your faith, if you don't have it, find it, if you have it, strengthen it, strong faith is the key to a beautiful life. Samantha believed that "Life isn't about how many breaths you take but the moments that take your breath away".
