Rose N. Hayes, age 99, beloved mother and grandmother, died peacefully on March 15, 2025.
Before moving recently to the Belvedere and Chestnut Ridge to be near her daughter, Rose was a lifetime resident of Philadelphia. She was born to the late Joseph and Carmella (née Cammarota) Iosca. Proud of her Italian heritage, Rose was fluent in the Italian language. She lived for over 70 years in the Tacony section of Philadelphia where she and her husband, the late Jim Hayes, raised their daughters. They were members of St. Leo's Church and Rose was a constant presence at her daughters' school, volunteering however she was needed.
Rose took great pride in her role as a homemaker. She had a wonderful eye for design and loved to entertain guests at her home. She made beautiful meals for her family and loved to bake as well. In her free time, she enjoyed sewing and knitting. Everything she created, she created with love. As a wife, mother and nanny to her beloved grandchildren, Rose was always present and willing to give all of herself.
Rose was preceded in death by her husband, Jim, in 1979 after 31 years of marriage, and her daughter, Roslyn Gut, in 2018. She is survived be her daughter, Charlotte Hangsterfer of Media, and four grandchildren Jaime, Alexandra, Veronica, and James.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. John Chrysostom Church in Wallingford at 11 am on Friday, March 21st. Friends and family may call in the church from 9:30-11 am. Burial will be Saturday, March 22nd, 11 am at Resurrection Cemetery in Bensalem, PA.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association ( donorservices.alz.org ) or the Alzheimer Foundation of America ( alzfdn.org )
