Ronald Delmar Longley Sr., age 79, longtime Media resident and recently of West Chester, died peacefully at Brandywine Hall on August 11, 2022.

Beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Ronald was born in Philipsburg, PA and raised in Garden City.  He was the son of the late Edwin and Esther Longley.  Ron graduated from Penncrest High School in 1961.  He served in the US Air Force from 1961-1965 and soon after began his career as an engineer with Boeing.  After 30 years with the company, Ron retired, and he and his wife, Arlene, enjoyed 12 years in Venice, FL.

Ron loved to golf and was a fan of the Philadelphia Eagles.  He enjoyed Phil and Jim's cheesesteaks and hoagies along with Charlie's hamburgers.

Ron was preceded in death by his brother, Edwin Longley Jr. of Sandy Ridge, PA.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Arlene Longley (nee Sharpless); children Connie Whartnaby (Harry) of Bear DE, Carolyn Lucci (Anthony) of Media, PA, Susan Detwiler (Dave) of Phoenixville, PA, and Ron Longley Jr. (Robyn Mills) of Lincoln University, PA; 5 grandchildren John, Katherine, Nicholas, Sara & Samuel; and 3 great-grandchildren William, Gabriel & Annika.
