He was born in Chester, Pa and lived there and in Ridley Township, where he attended Ridley High School. In 1943, following high school, he entered the U.S. Navy V-12 program, attending classes at the University of Pennsylvania and Penn State. He was commissioned as an ensign in 1945 and reported to the U.S.S. Point Cruz in November 1945, where he served as an assistant navigator. He was discharged in August 1946 and entered Grove City College that September. He married Dorothy Johnson in August 1948 and completed his B.S. in 1949. His job required him to travel throughout the world and, with his wife and two sons, he lived in Belgium for five years. He enjoyed his travels and was curious about culture and customs world-wide. In Spain, he engaged in a bull fighting session and ran with the bulls in Pamplona. He tried parasailing in Brazil and bargaining at local bazaars. He loved dogs throughout his life and usually had at least one dog wherever he lived. He enjoyed all kinds of music, especially jazz, big bands and folk music and encouraged the musical interests and hobbies of his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his three children, Sallyann Molloy (C. Terrence) of Runnemede, N.J., Robert of North Wales, Pa. and David (Paula) of Liverpool, N.Y. He was also blessed with eight grandchildren, Timothy Molloy (Deirdre), Brendan Molloy (Suzy), Theodore Molloy (Erica), Andrew Molloy, Sara Sinclair (Shawn), Robert Lamberson III, Thea Jeschke (Aaron) and Cameron Ellis Lamberson, and four great-grandchildren, Isaiah and David Jeschke, Ronan Molloy and Boss Zuri Molloy.
