Robert Earl Haines
September 19, 1942 – October 6, 2025
It is with great heartbreak that our family announces the recent and sudden passing of Robert Haines, age 83, after a short hospital admission.
Robert, better known as Bobby or Bob, was born in Media, PA to Robert and Grace (née Parsons) Haines. He continued to live in Media for most of his life. Bob married his soulmate and teenage sweetheart, Sandra (née Church) Haines, in 1960. They raised their two children, Robert W. "Billy" Haines and Brenda (née Haines) Duffy, minutes from where Bob had grown up.
His work as a machinist brought him great joy and fulfillment. One of the highlights was his assistance in the creation of a heart valve that he calculated and designed for surgical procedures.
His life was filled with gardening, fishing and his most favorite activity – visiting the beach. Bob and Sandra enjoyed over 30 years in their summer home in Dennisville, NJ where they spent much of their time with good friends Mike and Kathy. Bob was lucky enough to have a lifelong friend, Mario, to share adventures. They even moved within a block of each other later in life.
Bob is predeceased by his wife, Sandra, of Spartenburg, SC, his parents, and his three younger brothers Jack, Bill and Rick.
He is survived by his son Billy Haines (Denise) and his daughter Brenda Duffy (John) along with his grandsons William Haines (Lexie), John Duffy and Andrew Haines and his granddaughters Alyssa Duffy Goetaski (Kevin), Kirsten Cox (Lane), Hannah McFadden (Sasha).
He leaves behind 6 great-grandchildren with whom he had the pleasure to laugh and play before his death.
Bob was lucky enough to find love again late in life and was surrounded with comfort and warmth by Connie.
