Obituary

Robert E. Barlow, age 89, died peacefully at home on April 8, 2026.

Born and raised in Havertown, Robert attended Haverford High School and obtained his bachelors degree from Drexel University.  He began his career with DuPont where he worked as a controller for over two decades. He later worked for many years as a controller with Accurate Recycling and served as an accountant with Ohev Shalom where he retired recently.

Robert and his beloved wife, the late Margaret "Peggy" Barlow, resided in Wallingford, PA for over 40 years.  They raised their three children in the Wallingford community and were parishioners of St. John Chrysostom Church. An active man, Robert focused on fitness. He participated in many half-marathons.  He enjoyed a good bottle of wine and was an avid Disney vacationer.  Robert was a lover of animals and cherished his dog, Teddy. As a father and grandfather, Robert made an incredible impact on his family.  He adored his children and grandchildren, and his presence will be deeply missed.

Robert was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Margaret Barlow, and his brother, William.  He is survived by his children Troy Barlow (Brandy) of Aston, Audra Shields (Anthony) of Brookhaven, and Tara Murphy (Mike) of Aston. He is also survived by his grandchildren Lexi, Olivia, Liam, Aidan, and Layla as well as siblings Gene Barlow of Havertown and Jack Barlow of North Carolina.

Robert's Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 22nd at St. John Chrysostom Church, 607 S. Providence Rd. Wallingford, PA 19086. Friends may call from 9-10 am in the church followed by Mass at 10 am.
