Obituary

Rita Pagan, age 87, a resident of Glenolden, PA passed away on May 28, 2020 at Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital.  She was the beloved wife of Bruce S. Pagan.  Born and raised in South Philadelphia, Rita was the daughter of the late Augustine and Florence (nee Petrillo)Reale.  She graduated from South Philadelphia High School in 1949.  She resided in Drexel Hill for ten years, moved to Tulsa, OK for sixteen years and returned to Delaware County where she has lived since 1993.

Mrs. Pagan was tremendously hardworking and entrepreneurial.  She worked as a bookkeeper and tax prepare and later as an office manager, accountant, and controller.  She eventually opened a dance wear store, Mainstream Plus, which she ran for 40 years.  Rita's family considered her a trusted source of knowledge in the areas of business management, operations, sales and logistics.

Rita was an accomplished seamstress and made beautiful dresses.  She enjoyed ballroom dancing along with round and square dancing.  She bestowed her love of music and performing to her son.  She was a kind and loving mother.

In addition to her husband of 47 years, Bruce, Rita is survived by her son, Joseph M. D'Aquino III (Tina) of Glenolden, 3 step-daughters, Susan of Florida, Janet of Florida, and Karen of California, and six grandchildren Tyler, Keith, Yazmeen, Eric, Aiden & Faith.  She was preceded in death by three siblings Yola, Thomas and Marie, and is survived by her sister Diane Reale Daugherty (Jim) of Berwyn, PA.
