Rita Carmela Bove, age 94, a longtime resident of Media, PA died peacefully at Chestnut Ridge Assisted Living on February 8, 2024.  A devoted wife and mother, Rita will be remembered as a beautiful, caring family member and person.

Born and raised in Philadelphia, Rita was the daughter of the late Anthony and Yolanda (née D'Alessio) Coia.  She spent 40 years married to the love of her life, the late Robert Paul Bove, and the two were blessed with two wonderful children.  Rita obtained her BA in Education from nearby St. Joseph's University and worked for several years as an elementary school teacher with St. Mary Magdalen School in Media.

A skilled artist and illustrator, Rita had a great appreciation for art and art museums. She was very fond of the theater and orchestra.  She loved a night at the movies or a quick bite out. She spent peaceful moments at her local park and her love for all animals, birds, and wildlife - especially her pet cat "Fred"- was a gift. Above all, Rita was thoughtful and kind, and family and friends were truly blessed to have her for so many years.

Rita is survived by her children Robert Anthony Bove of Beltsville, MD and Linda Marie Robinson (Nicholas) of Blewbury, England. Rita's family would like to call special attention to her niece, Ms. Nancy Holland, a frequent and compassionate visitor in her last year, along with other family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Providence Animal Center, 555 Sandy Bank Road, Media, PA 19063.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:30am, Thursday February 22nd at Nativity BVM Church 30 E. Franklin St Media, PA.  Friends may call at the church from 9:30 to 10:30 am.
