Rita M. Baio, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, died peacefully in Newnan, Georgia at the age of 91. Rita was a longtime resident of Turnerseville, NJ and later Sewell, NJ before moving to be with her son in Newnan in recent years.

The daughter of the late Oreste and Leanora (nee Costello) Pellegrini, Rita was born in Philadelphia and spent the first 27 years of her life in Havertown, PA.  She attended Sacred Heart School and graduated from Haverford High School. Rita was the devoted wife of Salvatore Baio who preceded her in death in 2018 after 57 years of marriage.  Rita and Salvatore settled in Turnersville where they raised their two children, Maria and Jon.  Rita was a woman of great faith and was very connected with her church community.  She volunteered with the Sacred Heart Guild at St. Charles Borromeo Church and with the Catholic Daughters in Sewell.  Rita had many wonderful friends and especially enjoyed her weekly dominoes game.  A lover of travel, Rita traveled extensively throughout the United States and Europe.  She also visited Russia, China, Japan, Hong Kong, and Brazil.

Rita is survived by her children Maria Maze (Daniel) of Sunset Beach, NC and Jon Baio of Newnan, GA; grandchildren Samantha Maze Windham and D. Sonny Maze; and her sister Virginia Cavallo of St. Pete Beach, FL.

Friends and family are invited to a viewing from 9:30-10:30 am on February 5, 2025 at Sacred Heart Church, 105 Wilson Ave, Havertown, PA. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 am followed by burial at SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children Hospital ( www.stjude.org ).
