Richard L. Veit, age 87, died peacefully at home surrounded by his family on January 13, 2023.  He was a wonderfully loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather.

Born in Brooklyn, NY to the late Frank and Dorothy Veit, Dick spent his childhood years in Drexel Hill.  After graduating from West Catholic High School, Mr. Veit attended Villanova University where he obtained his bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.  He then joined the US Navy and became an Explosive Ordnance Disposal Officer and served as a Navy diver and underwater swimmer.

Dick enjoyed a long career as a sales engineer and sales manager, most recently with Eurotherm Chessell.  He spent three years working internationally in the UK.  He was a member of St. Mary Magdalen for over 55 years and was very dedicated to the church and his community.  He volunteered as a CCD instructor and CYO coach.  He shared his love of sports through coaching various children's teams.  Dick enjoyed playing golf at The Springhaven Club.

Mr. Veit was a man of great faith. He had a constant thirst for knowledge and a wonderful sense of humor. He will be remembered for his kindness, compassion and generosity.

Dick was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 49 years, Florence A. Veit, and daughter, Louise Veit.

He is survived by children Alicia Eggers (Graf) of Media, Missy Singley (Bob) of Glen Mills, Richard Veit (Candy) of Sebastian, FL, and Christopher Veit of Media; 5 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary Magdalen on Saturday, January 21 ^st at 11:00 am.  Friends and family may call in the church from 9:30 – 11:00 am.  Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Media.
