Obituary

The simplest of sentences will never be as profound as this: It is with great sorrow and deep sadness
that the family of Ramune Victoria (Brantas) Greene announce her passing on February 28, 2023.
Born in Dinkelsbühl, Germany in 1948, Ramune took an incredible journey to the United States to begin
a new life with her parents, Joseph and Aldona Brantas, on the USS Hersey (which her kids thought was
Hershey and assumed that's where her love of chocolate had begun). She thrived in her new country
and spent summers swimming in Lake Quinsigamond and developed a passion for the Lithuanian Drum
and Bugle Corp as a flag girl in her high school years at Classical High School in Worcester,
Massachusetts.

Years later, in 1970, she became a mother for the first time and was blessed twice more in 1975 and
again in 1977, and they became her everything. She helped them navigate life's ups and downs, never
judged their choices, and pushed them to be their best selves, but also held their hands when they
needed reassurance or encouragement, when times were tough. She was an integral part of helping
them grow into the incredible humans they are today.

Her compassion and empathetic nature inspired a 20-year career as a registered nurse where she
worked tirelessly to help people with a gentle nature, a caring disposition and a charm that would light
up a room and bring comfort to many.

How can you sum up this amazing woman in just a few paragraphs? You can't. If you knew her, you
would know the answer: there will never be enough words and there will never be enough time. She
valued family, love, honesty, friendship, laughter, MSNBC (cue to her kids laughing), beach walks in the
late afternoon, a good piece of cake and a tall glass of milk and was always on the lookout for the best
fried oyster. If you were on the receiving end of her infamous sly smile (when she was feeling
particularly mischievous), you knew that she considered you part of her tribe.

This only scratches the surface of what this incredible woman was all about.
Ramune is survived and incredibly missed by her loving children, Laurie Galvin, (John), Stephanie Greene
and Nathan Greene (Patrice), her sister, Zita Danna (Thomas), brother Joseph Brantas and sister Daina
Irwin (David). She will be forever cherished by her grandchildren, who meant the world to her, and may
her soul shine on in her niece and nephews.
