Obituary

Ralph Anthony Marano, Sr., 70, of Clifton Heights, passed away Sunday, May 21, 2023 after his well fought battle with cancer.

Ralph was born the oldest of six children to his parents, Anthony and Teresa, on October 14, 1952. He worked for many years in the automotive industry, and was a man of exceptional mechanical ability. Ralph was the first person friends and family would call if they needed anything.

Ralph wore many titles: husband, father, brother, friend, but his most favorite of all was Pops. Not a day went by that he didn't remind his grandchildren just how proud of them he was. Ralph was a talented guitarist who had a passion for music and loved playing with his band. He enjoyed cooking and having family dinners with his children and grandchildren. He valued education and hard work and instilled these values in his children. He was dedicated to his work and rarely missed a day. When not at work, Ralph's favorite place to spend time was at the Jersey shore. He spent his life making memories there with his wife and children, and more recently enjoyed spending time there with his grandchildren.

Ralph especially enjoyed spending time with his wife, Lorraine, who he loved deeply. It was rare to see one without the other, and people often say they are the epitome of true love.

He will forever be missed by his friends and family, for Ralph was truly one of a kind. It was a honor to know him and be loved by him.

He is predeceased by his parents Anthony and Teresa, his grandmother Rose Canuso, and his stepfather, Lee Campbell.

He is survived by the love of his life, Lorraine Marano; his children Teresa Leskody (Tom), Collene Brown (Bob), Ralph Marano, Jr., and Tina Varrassi (Eric); his grandchildren Kaitlyn, Nicholas, Vinny, and Giana; his many siblings, in laws, nieces, nephews, and extended family members; as well as his abundance of lifelong friends.

A celebration of Life & Memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 31st at St. Mary Magdalen Church, 2400 N. Providence Rd., Media. Friends and family may call in the church from 9:30-11 am. Mass will begin at 11 am.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Ralph's honor. www.stjude.org
