Paul
Schregel
d. Apr 29, 2021
Paul N. Schregel passed away on April 29, 2021 at White Horse Village retirement community in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania. His loving wife of 54 years, Bette Schregel, was beside him. They previously resided in Rose Valley, PA (for 49 years). He is survived by his wife, Bette Jean (Neeld) Schregel; their two children Kevin Schregel (Lauren) of Phoenix Arizona, and Keri (Schregel) Golas (Thomas) of Athens, Greece; and five grandchildren, Thanasis, Sofia, Ethan, Pavlos and Mara. He was a very proud and loving father and grandfather.
One of five children born in Buffalo, New York, he was small but feisty and very determined. He was an accomplished athlete in track, football, and lacrosse from high school through his undergraduate career. With full tuition scholarships, he attended Colgate University where he graduated with a BA Degree with honors in mathematics, and MIT for a MS Degree in Industrial Management. He started as an intern with Scott Paper company in 1961 and stayed with the company until 1995, where he finished his career there as SVP Americas Region. He excelled in his work and strived to win the game, taking copious notes and every perspective into consideration.
Paul was a great story teller and had an infectious laugh. He loved to be a part of, and orchestrate travel, as well as outdoor adventures such as fishing in the Canadian wilderness or having friends and family join him in Virginia for hunting expeditions.
He was an active member of the community, and loved making a difference. He served on numerous boards including a particularly meaningful time serving the Wallingford-Swarthmore School District. He was always generous with educational organizations and pursuits, or organizations that aligned with his values or struck his heart.
If you would like to honor his memory, we have chosen two meaningful causes for donations: Colgate University's Emmett M. & Delores B. Timmons Endowed Scholarship fund
