Patrick Michael Hughes (October 14, 1977 to November 1, 2023)

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our brother, Patrick Hughes (46) of Ardmore, Pennsylvania, who suddenly passed of natural causes on November 1, 2023.

Patrick was an accomplished musician. His Irish parents introduced him to the tin whistle at age six, and soon after, he found his love of playing the trumpet. After graduating from Masuk High School in Monroe, CT, he continued his education at Temple University, studying under the legendary jazz performer and professor Terrel Stafford. Patrick performed with distinguished trumpeter and conductor Jon Faddis at the Midwest Clinic in Chicago. Patrick toured the United States, Europe and Canada with the highly acclaimed Melody Gardot. Patrick was well-versed in several musical genres (Classical Jazz, Ska, Balkan, Brazilian, and Swing) – and performed in many musical bands. He also recorded two solo albums, Herevibe and An Invitation to Connect.

Patrick was the son of the late William and Barbara Hughes of Monroe, CT and Rindge, NH. He is survived by sister Erin (Dana) Canzano, Shrewsbury, MA, and brother William (Kerin) Hughes, Charlotte, NC.

Patrick will be deeply missed by his forever friend, Cassidy DePaul (and family); nieces (Anne and Mary Kate Canzano and Emily Hughes) and nephews (James Canzano and Nathan Hughes); aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and band members.
