Obituary

Patricia Ann Moore (née Hatchard), a dedicated educator and beloved matriarch, passed away on June 22, 2026, at the age of 85.

Born in Philadelphia to George E. Hatchard and Amelia Sbraga, Patricia grew up in the Mayfair neighborhood of Northeast Philadelphia. She was a proud graduate of Lincoln High School and went on to pursue higher education at Immaculata University, eventually earning her Master’s degree in Elementary Education.

A passionate believer in the power of education, Pat dedicated her professional life to teaching. Early in her career, she taught middle school. Later, when her own children were all finally in school full-time, she went on to spend many rewarding years as a Head Start teacher for the School District of Philadelphia, shaping the minds and hearts of countless young children at the very beginning of their educational journeys.

Her faith and community were central to her life. She was an active parishioner at both St. Denis and St. Mary Magdalen churches. At St. Mary Magdalen, she generously gave her time to her faith community, serving as a CCD (PREP) teacher, a Eucharistic Minister, and an active participant in their seniors' programs as well as a volunteer in the Adoration Chapel for 23 years.

Throughout her life, Pat also lived in Havertown (1979 to 1994) and Media (1994 to 2013) before moving to White Horse Village in 2013. Wherever she resided, she filled her life with joy and activity. She was an avid reader and spent many years traveling the globe after her four children were grown. Pat was highly involved at White Horse Village, where she assisted with Octofair each year and participated in many activities, including the annual Senior Games, bingo, bowling, and bocce. Above all else, her absolute favorite pastime was spending cherished time with her 11 grandchildren.

Patricia is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, William F. Moore; her four children: Patricia DiGiorgio (David) of West Chester, PA, William A. Moore (Linda) of Newtown Square, PA, Kathleen Meaney (Stephen) of Devon, PA, and Andrew D. Moore (Lisa) of Havertown, PA; and her 11 grandchildren: Nicole P. DiGiorgio Jarkowsky (Joseph), William L. Moore, Danielle R. DiGiorgio, Evan C. Moore (Kendall), Julia M. DiGiorgio, Andrew B. Moore, Emily M. Meaney, Kelsey L. Moore, Justin W. Moore, Samantha G. Meaney, and Joseph F. Moore. She was predeceased by her parents and her two brothers, George W. Hatchard and Arthur J. Hatchard.
