Obituary

Nancy Anna Kell, aged 102, a longtime resident of Millville, NJ and recently of Media, PA, died peacefully on May 7th surrounded by her loving family. She leaves behind a legacy of faith, kindness, and dedication to those she loved.

Born in Philadelphia to Robert and Catherine Prause, Nancy’s family lived briefly in Germantown, PA, before settling in Westville, NJ. She graduated from Woodbury High School and Camden Commercial Business School, laying a foundation for a lifetime of hard work and service.

Nancy began her career with P.R.S.L. Railroad, where she met her late husband, Bryce Kell, during World War II. The couple relocated to Millville in 1945, starting a new chapter together. Nancy's heart was deeply rooted in faith and service. She was a devoted member of the Church of All Saints, formerly St. Mary Magdalen, and volunteered with St. Vincent DePaul and Alter Care for over two decades.

Her professional life included twenty years as an Office Manager at West Pharmaceutical Company. Upon retirement, Nancy and Bryce, worked side-by-side running an art framing business for fourteen years. Always community-minded, Nancy was a member of the Millville Woman’s Club for 65 years and served as a trustee. She was also an enthusiastic bridge player, belonging to four different bridge clubs.

Nancy had a remarkable ability to make friends wherever she went. She loved to laugh and never took herself too seriously. With an elegant and classic style, Nancy took great pride in her appearance, but she was as warm, kind and caring as she was beautiful.

Nancy was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Bryce Kell Sr., in 1998 and her brother, Thomas Prause, in 1997. She is survived by her daughter Maureen Hilferty (John) of Media, PA, and her son Bryce Kell Jr. (Tina) of South Carolina, along with five cherished granddaughters - Melissa (Zeb), Nancy (David), Kelly (Sean), Jessica (Mark), and Lauren (Tim) - and sixteen great-grandchildren, all of whom were Nancy’s pride and joy.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Nativity BVM on Tuesday, May 12th at 11 am. Friends may call in the church at 10 am. Burial and grave side service will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery (All Saints Parish) in Millville, NJ on Wednesday, May 13th at 11:15am.
