Nancy Mcfadden
Grundhofer Rohr
d. Feb 11, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Nancy McFadden Grundhofer Rohr, who left this world on February 11, 2025. Born on June 23, 1938, in Philadelphia, PA, Nancy was a beloved daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend to all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Nancy was the daughter of C.E. McFadden and Irma Ruby MacColl McFadden, and she grew up in a close-knit family that instilled in her the values of love, kindness, and generosity. She completed her education at Upper Darby High School in 1956 before pursuing further studies at Penn State University - Abington from 1956 to 1958. Her desire for knowledge and improvement guided her throughout her life.
In her professional career, Nancy proudly served as a Civilian Support Staff member at the Philadelphia Naval Base and later took on the role of Personnel Manager at Haverford College. Her dedication and hard work were evident in her commitment to her jobs and to those she worked with.
In 1998, Nancy married Peter M. Rohr, sharing a loving partnership that brought joy to their lives. Sadly, she was preceded in death by her husband, Peter, and her beloved daughter, Debra L. Antes, both of whom she cherished deeply. Nancy is survived by her devoted daughter Lori Grundhofer Mayer, her caring sisters Phyllis Culp (Robert) and Jane Welsh, and her grandchildren, Heather Connelly (Owen) and Stephen Mayer (Megan) along with nephews and cousins. The legacy of love she built will continue through her family and friends, who will always remember her warmth, spirit, and compassion.
A woman of many interests, Nancy found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved going to garage sales, traveling, spending time at North Cape May, and cherishing moments with her cats. Reading was another passion, and she often found herself lost in the pages of her favorite novels. Nancy was also known for her generous heart, dedicating her time and resources to various animal rescues, reflecting her profound love for animals and the well-being of all living beings.
Nancy McFadden Grundhofer Rohr will be missed dearly, yet her spirit will live on in the hearts of everyone she loved and who loved her. May she rest in peace, knowing she made the world a better place through her kindness and love.
