Monty Tillman, age 83, a longtime resident of Media, PA, died peacefully on March 22, 2026.

Son of the late Samuel and Jeanette Tillman, Monty was born in Chester where he spent his early childhood years. He graduated from Media High School and remained in Media his entire life where he raised his children and ran his business.  An active member of his community, Monty dedicated many hours to the Media Little League as a coach and volunteer.

Monty was the husband of the late Susan Tillman who preceded him in death in 2022 after 55 years of marriage.  Together they had two boys, Monty Jr. and Casey.  Monty worked as a self-employed general contractor for over fifty years.  He loved to build and, apart from his work, he often had small building projects around his own house.  Monty was very involved with his boys as they were growing up.  Together they went on crabbing and fishing trips, spent time at the Little League field, and supported the Phillies and Eagles.  Monty loved going on cruises with his wife, Susan, and generally treasured time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his son, Monty Tillman, Jr., and granddaughter, Deanna Tillman.

He is survived by his son, Casey Tillman (Desiree) of Media, grandchildren Christian Tillman and Shane Tillman, and siblings John Tillman of Lewes, DE and David Tillman of Chester, PA.

Friends and family are invited to Monty's funeral on Friday, March 27, 2026 at Rigby Harting & Hagan Funeral Home, 15 E. Fourth St. Media, PA 19063.  There will be a calling from 10-11 am with the service to begin at 11 am. Burial will follow at Media Cemetery.
