Michael J. Berman, a retired home inspector and longtime resident of Media, Pennsylvania, died after a short battle with Covid-19 on Monday January 4, 2021, at the age of 83. Born in Philadelphia, PA to the late Henry Berman and Mildred (nee Ginsburg) Berman. He was the beloved husband of Elizabeth A. Berman (nee Wohlford); loving father of Shiphra Berman and Seth Berman; dear stepfather of Chuck Waddington, Doug Waddington and Sharon Giunta (nee Waddington); and Brother of Bernard "Bud" Berman and Rick Berman and grandfather to many grandchildren; and companion to his Welsh Corgie Lovey, who was his dear friend of 15 years.
Mike graduated from Upper Darby High School class of 1955; attended Syracuse University; was a member of Zeta Beta Tau and worked as builder with his father and later spent 20 years as a home inspector. Mike pursued many interests throughout his life including working as a long-time crew member of the tall ship Gazela; he was president and treasurer of the local Gilbert and Sullivan group Thespis; the sound engineer for the Rose Valley Chorus; was active in the Unitarian Universalist Church and was an avid photographer. Mike was most proud of his involvement with the Media Arts Council (MAC) and was passionate about the organization which he helped to build up from its inception and served on the board and as president. Mike was a generous and patient man who will be remembered for his kindness and involvement in the local community which helped to make life just a little bit better for everyone.
