Obituary

Margaret Kathryn "Kathy" DeRosa-Pascucci, 77, of Media, PA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 16, 2026.

Born on March 28, 1949, in Philadelphia, Kathy was the beloved daughter of the late Harry and Agnes Umfer. She was a devoted sister to Agnes Lasch, Joanne Reiher, and the late Harry Umfer.

Kathy was the loving wife of Nicholas Pascucci, devoted mother of Michael DeRosa, and caring mother-in-law of Tracy Gill-DeRosa. She was an incredibly proud grandmother to Elise DeRosa, who brought immeasurable joy and meaning to her life. She is also survived by her stepchildren, Nicky Pascucci (Melissa) and Shanna Pascucci; step-grandchildren Giana Pascucci and Skylar Tiu (Ritchie); and many loving nieces and nephews.

A 1967 graduate of Cardinal Dougherty High School in Philadelphia, Kathy spent many years successfully running her own cleaning business, where her strong work ethic and warm personality left a lasting impression on everyone she met. She truly loved people and never met a stranger. Her kindness, optimism, and genuine interest in others made her unforgettable to all who knew her.

She found happiness in life's simple pleasures — dancing, music, caring for animals, enjoying a good cheesesteak and a glass of red wine, cheering on the Phillies and the 76ers, and traveling to the beach with her husband, Nick. Above all else, Kathy cherished her family. Nothing made her happier than watching her granddaughter Elise grow, and she spoke of her with endless pride and love. She also spent much of her time doing what mothers do best — worrying about her son Michael every single day.

Kathy had a beautiful spirit and an unwavering belief in the goodness of people and the world around her. She was truly one of a kind and will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Her love, laughter, and light will remain in the hearts of so many forever.

The family will hold a private memorial celebration of Kathy's life. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Kathy's honor to Providence Animal Center in Media, PA, https://providenceac.org/support-us/donate/memorial/
