Margaret G. Fobes, age 88, a longtime resident of Media, PA, passed away at Little Flower Manor on April 4, 2022.  She was the beloved wife of the late Harold Fobes.  Born in West Philadelphia to the late Gertrude and Frederick Lewis, Margaret spent her childhood years in Lansdowne where she attended St. Charles Borromeo School.  She graduated from Notre Dame High School in Moylan.

Mrs. Fobes resided in Havertown for 15 years before moving to Media where she spent over 40 years. She worked as a secretary for Philip Shank Plumbing and for IVB Bank.  A member of Nativity BVM Catholic Church, Margaret was a woman of deep faith and spirituality.  She was independent and strong, yet had the kindest and most loving demeanor. In her free time, she loved to go shopping. She adored her family, especially her grandchildren, and had many lifelong friends.

Mrs. Fobes was preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, Harold Fobes.

She is survived by her children Daniel G. Fobes of Media, Karen Cordivari of West Chester, and Lori Dittbrenner of Brookhaven.  She was the proud grandmother of 5, great-grandmother of 4, and great-great-grandmother of 1.  Margaret is also survived by her siblings Fred Lewis of Springfield, Maureen Robinson of Drexel Hill, and Trudy Shivers of Sweetwater, NJ.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, April 11, 2022 at Nativity BVM Catholic Church (Franklin & Monroe Sts., Media, PA).  Friends and family may attend the visitation from 9:30-10:30 am.  Mass will begin at 10:30 am with burial to follow at SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery.
