Born Alyce Lorraine Fitzgerald on September 19, 1938 at home in Coatesville, PA, Lorri passed away on September 11, 2022. She was the eldest daughter of Clarence Way Fitzgerald and Helen Mae Jordan Fitzgerald.
Lorri was married for 54 years to Alfred P. Antonelli who passed in 2017. She is survived by her children Alex Antonelli (Bernadette) of Corpus Christi, TX and Nicole Fitzgerald McBride (Brad Huguenin) of Harleysville, PA. She has three grandsons; Xander, Connor and Hayden of Corpus Christi, TX and a sister, Tammy Martin of Ephrata, PA. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Sharon Pitre, of Metairie, LA.
She graduated from West Chester High School and Penn State University. Lorri was the Social Services Director for Youth Advocates and previously sold real estate. Lorri also served as volunteer and Co-Coordinator of the Media Library book sale, increasing sales four times in 7 years and making very good friends through the sale. She founded and coordinated the Children's Outgrown Sales for 21 years in Springfield, Media, Gradyville, West Chester, Quaryville and Paoli. Lorri also founded the Delaware County Adoptive Parents Group, served on the Board of Glenwood Elementary School and also served as President of the Media Junior Women's Club.
Al and Lorri enjoyed tent camping through Europe for 6 months in 1970 in their Volvo and seeing many friends and relatives along the way. They continued camping with their children visiting Assateague State Park every summer and longer trips to Florida.
She is an 8 th generation descendant of Hans Ulrich Bergey who emigrated from Switzerland and settled in Harleysville in 1719. He was a founder of the first Mennonite Meetinghouse in Lower Salford Township, Montgomery County. Lorri lived at Arbour Square Senior Apartments for the past three years, only a few miles from the Bergey homestead on Camp Wawa Rd, before moving to Brightview Senior Living. Lorri valiantly fought Pulmonary Fibrosis/Interstitial Lung disease for 7 years.
Viewing will be held Sunday, September 25 th from 6-8 pm at Rigby Harting and Hagan Funeral Home, 15 East 4 th St., Media, PA and again Monday morning from 10-11 am. Services will be held Monday, September 26 th at 11:00 am, also at the funeral home.
If desired, donations can be made to the Media-Upper Providence Library, 1 East Front Street, Media, PA 19063 or your local library. Lorri also urges people to use their skills to volunteer in an area of their interest.
