Linda F. Leiby, a longtime resident of Media, PA, and more recently of Exton, PA, passed away on June 5, 2025 at the age of 77.
Born in Media, Linda was the daughter of the late Mae (nee Bullock) and Clyde M. Flounders. She is survived by her beloved husband of 53 years, Bruce R. Leiby; her brother, Donald Flounders (Penny); her nephew, Tom Flounders (Emily) and niece, Courtney (Zach). She was a proud great-aunt to Colin and cousin to Judy Ashby (Roy). Linda is also survived by her foster son and dear family friend, Frank Malone, as well as her best friend, Patricia Knebel. She was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Edward C. Leiby, and mother-in-law, Margaret (Strawbridge); and step mother-in-law, Ida.
After graduating from Penncrest High School in 1965, Linda went on to attend West Chester University. She worked for over 25 years with Media Office Supply working her way up to assistant manager. She also helped her husband with computer data entry. Together they co-authored "A Reference Guide to Television's Bonanza" published by McFarland Publishers in 2001.
Linda was an active member of First United Methodist Church of Media for more than five decades. She ran Bear Ministry, served as the secretary of Trustees & Ad Board, and managed paraments. She served as a secretary/treasurer of the Sunday School and taught Kindergarten Sunday School alongside her husband. She was on the Praise Team, helped with Vacation Bible School and worked for FUMC Day Care.
Linda loved collecting bears, traveling and photography. She was a huge fan of the Phillies and the Eagles. Throughout the years she had many cats who were a beloved part of her family, especially Cookie, Teddy, and Melody who was with her until the end.
Linda's funeral service will be Thursday, June 19th at First Church Media, 350 W. State Street, Media, PA 19063. Friends may call from 12-1 pm. The service will begin at 1 pm.
