Lawrence J. ( Larry ) Sullivan age 79 years of Media, Pa. on May 29, 2015 at his home with his loving family, after a brief illness. Mr. Sullivan was preceded in death by his parents Leo A. and Gertrude Sheilds Sullivan, his step mother Mary Lafferty Sullivan and his brother Donald Sullivan. Larry was a graduate of West Catholic High School High School class of 1954 and St. Joseph's University class of 1958. He served proudly in the U.S. Navy for 4 years aboard the U.S.S. Nespelen AOG 55 as a LT jg. His service included the Cuban Missle crisis. Larry was an active participant in the U.S.S. Nespelen Reunion group.He volunteered for The Media Little League, Meals on Wheels, Delaware County Literacy Council, U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, U.S.Navy League, and The Upper Providence Twp. Enviornmental Commission. Mr. Sullivan was a Certified Public Accountant, and Banker in Philadelphia. He was employed by Arthur Anderson and Co. and PSFS, he also worked at Equitable Bank in Baltimore, MD and MBNA in Newark, DE. Larry was an avid sailor, Navy enthusiast, WW II Historian, St. Joe's Hawks basketball team and was a consummate vegetable gardener. Survivors: wife Sally Mercier Sullivan of Media, Pa. son Sean Sullivan of Media, PA. and Baltimore, MD, and 2 daughters Sheila Sullivan-Inglis of North East MD. and Brigid Sullivan Scolis (Mark) of Media, PA. Beloved grandfather of PJ and Ethan Inglis, Hope and Brennan Scolis and loving step grand father of Aynsley Inglis. Brother Leo Sullivan Jr(Trish) Calling: will be in St. Mary Magdalen Church 2400 N. Providence Rd. Media, Pa. on Tuesday morning 8;30 - 10;30 AM. Service: Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:30 AM in St. Mary Magdalen Church. There will be a military service immediately following the funeral mass in the church entrance area.
