Kenneth A. Fitting, age 81, a longtime resident of the Media area, passed away at Fair Acres on July 19, 2020. Adored by his family, Ken was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
Born and raised in Chester, PA to the late Charles and Elva (nee Walker) Fitting, Ken was a graduate of Chester High School. He proudly served in the US Army during the Vietnam Era before beginning a long and enjoyable career with Chalmers & Kubeck where he worked for nearly 45 years as a machinist and a manager.
In addition to Ken being an avid runner and cyclist, he mastered the classical guitar. He also loved riding his motorcycles, especially when traveling across the country to visit his dear sister, Mickey. Ken loved to cruise and especially enjoyed touring the historical parts of various cities. He had a love of history with special interest in the Civil War. He loved visiting Gettysburg and sharing his knowledge with those that would join him. Ken would never pass up an opportunity to give to those less fortunate.
Dedicated to his family, Ken treasured holidays and family gatherings that were often celebrated with plenty of chocolate cake and his famous homemade pizzelles.
Ken is survived by his wife, Dawn Fitting; his children John Fitting of Parkside, PA, Jennifer Belisario of Malvern, PA, and Michelle Milewski of Middletown, DE; 6 grandchildren; and sisters Anna Griffith of Bear, DE and Miriam Holden of Palos Verdes Estates, CA.
Ken's family will celebrate his life with a memorial service and military service at Indian Town Gap National Cemetery on Thursday, July 30th at 12:30 pm.
