Obituary

Kathryn Timmons, age 69, passed away on May 4, 2025 at Chester County Hospital after a long battle with ovarian cancer. Kathryn was a lifelong resident of Ridley Township before recently moving to Glen Mills.  Born at Taylor Hospital in 1955, Kathryn was the daughter of the late Albert and Gloria Moretti.  She spent her childhood years in Milmont Park where she attended Our Lady of Peace School and graduated from Ridley High School in 1973.  Kathryn enjoyed a long career with Swarthmore College holding various positions in the dining hall, IT, the business office, payroll, and the Psychology Department. She retired in 2020 after 33 years.

Family was everything to Kathryn.  She treasured her role as a mother to her two children, and nothing brought her greater joy than being mom-mom to her four grandchildren. Kathryn's home was always open to family and friends where she brought people together with her love of cooking. She enjoyed hosting parties and most looked forward to cooking Thanksgiving dinner. Kathryn cherished her travels with family and friends, especially cruises with her travel companions.  She road tripped to Disney World with her family, summered at the Shore, and visited the Mediterranean, National Parks, the Caribbean, and many other destinations.

She is survived by her husband of 47 years, William R. Timmons; children Bill Timmons (Katie) of Philadelphia and Alison Windsor (Kevin) of Chadds Ford; and four loving grandchildren Declan, Quinn, Reese, and Clara. She is also survived by her siblings Albert Moretti of Downingtown and Betty Ann Ranalli of North Wildwood, NJ.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Kathryn's life on Monday, May 12th at Rigby Harting & Hagan Funeral Home, 15 E. Fourth St. Media, PA 19063.  Visitation: 9:30-11 am. Funeral Service: 11am. Burial will follow at Eastlawn Cemetery.
