Born in Philadelphia, she was a graduate of West Catholic High School for Girls. She worked for over 45 years first as an Apartment Manager for the Herbert / Yentis company and then the office manager of White Manor Country Club and finally at Merion Golf Club.

Katherine loved animals especially cats and dogs and rescued many of them from the SPCA over her lifetime especially her favorite pets, Cutty, Maggie, and Isabella.  A proud grandmother, she spent much time with her two grandchildren in Drexel Hill.

Katherine was preceded in death by her first husband Domenic Albano, and her second husband, the late Peter Ferrante, and her parents, the late Albert  and Irene Shabas. She is survived by her son, Rocco Albano; daughter-in-law Susan Albano and grandchildren Tristan and Gianna Albano of Drexel Hill.
