Joseph A. Volzone

age 97 years, of Springfield, PA.  Formerly of Folsom.  Passed away peacefully on October 9, 2023. Joe was born and raised in Chester, PA. He graduated from Chester High School, then earned his BA degree from East Stroudsburg University and his Master's from Temple University.

Mr. Volzone enjoyed a lifetime career in Education working for the Chester School District.  First as a physical education teacher, then serving as Principal for many years before retirement.  He was honorably discharged from the US Army in 1948 as a corporal, after serving much of his time in Japan.  Joe enjoyed carpentry, fishing and he was an avid reader.  For many years he volunteered with The Salvation Army, and he was a long-time member of Our Lady of Peace Parish in Ridley Twp.  Mr. Volzone was the son of the late Albino and Giovina Volzone.

Survivors include his 2 sisters, Helen Schad and Catherine Grassano along with nieces and nephews. He will be missed by his family and friends. He is also the brother of the late Dorothy Conte

Friends may call in Our lady of Peace Church 10:00 – 11:00 AM Thursday morning October 19, 2023, Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Thursday, October 19, 2023. in Our Lady of Peace Church 208 Milmont Ave, Folsom, PA. A private burial will follow immediately in Cathedral Cemetery in Wilmington, DE.
