Joseph C. Blake, age 72, passed away peacefully at Manor Care in Yeadon on August 6, 2019.  Born and raised in the Ryde District of Machester, Jamaica, Joseph attended Bethabra High School.  At age 38, he moved to Pennsylvania where he lived until the time of his death.  Joseph worked as a chef at the Plumstead Inn for 26 years.

Joseph was a very kind person who constantly made himself available to other people.  He never turned down a request for help no matter what the situation was.  Mr. Blake was light-hearted and enjoyed having fun whether it was playing dominoes or dancing.  He was a wonderful cook and enjoyed brandy.

Joseph's family will miss him dearly and wish him the best of luck in Heaven.  He died leaving three children, Jacqueline Blake, Albert Blake and Troy Blake and ten grandchildren Albert Blake Jr., Deidre, Tiffany, Christina, Tashika, Shantel, Calvin, Ramon, and Latoya Muyrana Mc'Crae. He is also survived by three siblings Jacqueline Blake, Albert Blake and Troy Blake as well as the mother of his children, Patris Maxwell, and his daughter-in-law, Dean Blake.

Mr. Blake's funeral service will be Sunday, August 18, 2019 at the Rigby Harting & Hagan Funeral Home. Friends may call from 1-3 pm.  The service will begin at 3 pm.
