John, affectionally known as Jeff or Bloc, was born in Media, PA to John and Mary Edwards on June 4,1948. He went to high school at Media High School and graduated in 1966. He went on to attend Lincoln University where he became one of the founding members of the first non-Greek fraternity, The 307. He worked for the United States Postal Service before retiring with almost 45 years of service.

Jeff was an Eagle Scout. So, it is not surprising he found solace in the outdoors. He had a passion for Hunting and Fishing, especially. In his earlier days, Jeff loved to run. Whether it be a 5K or a half marathon, there he was. He loved his Philadelphia Eagles, his trucks, his guns, and his coins. But nothing brought him more joy than his family. Especially his grandchildren. Affectionally known to them as "Poppop," Jeff became a hero to them all with his support and involvement in their lives. His dedication to his family and the sacrifices he made for them, paints a portrait of a man worthy of honor.

Jeff is survived by his sons John of Glenolden, Carl of Long Branch, NJ and Christopher of Phoenixville, his sister Juanita of Media, his former wife and dear friend Carol Betz of West Chester, longtime companion Sheena Shepherd of Morton and her family whom he loved, his grandchildren Alec and Jaimie of AZ, Carl Jr. of West Chester, Lisa of DE, Jordyn and Lucas of Phoenixville, Olivia of Texas and his great-granddaughters Zariya and Lavi May of AZ.

He is preceded in death by his father John, his mother Mary and is daughter Lisa. All who knew him held him in the highest regard and loved him dearly. The countless number of friends in his life are a testament to that.

Funeral service will be held at Rigby Harting & Hagan Funeral Home,15 E 4th St, Media, PA 19063 on Monday August 10th friends may call from 10 am-11 am.  The service will begin at 11 am with Pastor Mark Tindall of Blue Route Vineyard Church officiating. Burial will follow at Rolling Green Cemetery, 1008 W Chester Pike West Chester, PA 19382.
