John Francis Barnes, 61 years, a resident of Clifton Heights, passed away on June 22, 2021.  Mr. Barnes was born in Philadelphia where he attended Good Shepherd School and Bartram High School.  A former resident of Zionsville, PA and Darby, John was a parishioner of "B.V.M." in Darby.

John loved to fish. Whenever possible, he would fish all day and night. He served in the Army National Guard for 16 years and loved every minute of it!  He was a sharp shooter and won many awards. He couldn't wait for his next visit every year to Indian Town Gap Base where he loved blowing up rockets and mortars.  He was certified to work on military tanks.  He was a great supporter of veterans and all military and volunteered with many veterans parades.  He was a good brother and uncle. His family loved him and will miss him dearly!

He is survived by his former spouse, Sue Barnes, and step-daughter, Laura.  John is also survived by siblings Rosemarie Ferry of Zionsville, Joseph Barnes of Cumbola, Raymond Barnes of Folcroft, Robert Barnes of Boothwyn, Barbara Moyer, Roberta Horn, Norman Quinn, and Mary Quinn; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and brothers and sisters-in-law.

Services will be held at the Rigby Harting & Hagan Funeral Home, 15 E. Fourth St. Media, PA 19063, on Sunday, July 11th.  There will be a visitation at 1:30 pm and the memorial service will begin at 2:00 pm.
