Joan Hermsen, age 94, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 10 ^th at her daughter's home in Media, PA.  Family members were by her side and were given the blessing of "handing her off from their hands to God's hands."

Joan's parents were John and Estelle and siblings were Ralph and Nancy.  She grew up in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Joan attended nursing school and before graduation met her beloved husband, Paul Hermsen.  They were married for 63 years. She was a loving mother to her three daughters Linda (Pat), Diane (Bob), and Susan (Earl).  She was a wonderful grandmother to seven grandchildren and was so happy to become a great-grandmother to six great-grandchildren.

Paul, Joan, and family lived in several different states including Minnesota, Pennsylvania, Utah, and Colorado.  Paul and Joan ultimately retired in Florida. While Minnesota was Joan's true home, she also thoroughly enjoyed the history in Bucks County, PA. Along the way, they made life long friends. Joan enjoyed volunteering at the local charity shops and nursing homes.

What Joan enjoyed most was being with her family.  She was the perfect homemaker who was a wonderful cook and always provided a warm and loving home. She will be greatly missed by all.

In lieu of flowers or donations, contact someone you've lost touch with, find ways to reach out, send a thoughtful card, smile at a stranger, give someone a hug, or enjoy a good meal with family.  She would love that.

A graveside service will be held in Iowa at a later date.
