Joan Elizabeth Fischbach, age 84, passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on January 3, 2021.  Joan was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and was recently preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Eugene Fischbach.

Born in Baltimore to the late James and Evelyn Wise, Joan was a graduate of Western High School.  She enrolled in commercial courses after high school where she honed her remarkable typing skills.  She held various secretarial positions throughout the country as she often moved from city to city in support of her Naval husband.

Joan loved crossword puzzles, board games, trivia, and Jeopardy.  She was a great bowler and a huge baseball fan.  An animal lover, Joan was especially fond of cats along with cat mysteries.  She enjoyed trips with family and she will be deeply missed by her beloved relatives, friends and neighbors.

Joan is survived by children Donna of Glen Mills, Debbie of Edgewood, MD, Ray (Karin) of Valencia, CA, and Adam of Newtown Square; 8 wonderful grandchildren Danny, Angela, Amy, Brian, Emily, Stacy, Michael and Renee; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Her funeral will be on Monday, January 11th at the Rigby Harting & Hagan Funeral Home, 15 E. Fourth St. Media, PA 19063.  Friends may call from 10-11 am.  The service will begin at 11 am followed by her interment at Media Cemetery.
