Jane D.
Pavoni
Aug 13, 1924 — Jan 28, 2023
Jane D. Pavoni (Dziadosz), age 98, passed from this world on January 28, 2023 in the presence of her loving family. Born August 13, 1924 in Shenandoah, PA, Jane lived her life in Philadelphia, Lansdowne and Media, PA.
Jane, (Jenny), grew up in a large family with siblings Sophie, Stella, Albert and Florence. At a young age she and her family faced the loss of her father, Martin. Her mother, Eva, worked hard to give her family the best life possible. Jane had fond memories of her childhood.
After graduating from high school in Shenandoah, Jane moved to Philadelphia. She always missed her family but remained close by visiting when she could. She kept up with her nieces Frances, Lorraine, Mary, Annette, Janet and Christina who were just like sisters to her.
Throughout her life they kept her spirits high with visits and information about her Shenandoah roots.
Upon her arrival in Philadelphia, Jane worked at the Frankford Arsenal to contribute to the war effort. On a snowy night after work, Jane caught a ride home with who was to become the love of her life, Art Pavoni. They married on October 11, 1952 and Art remained by her side for the next 66 years until his passing. They built a family together with five children, Patrice, Arthur Jr., Marcia, Joseph & Lisa.
When her youngest was five years old, Jane sought employment at the University of Pennsylvania where she was hired on the spot and began working that very day. She rose in the ranks and eventually came to manage the University's Personnel Records Department.
In 1991, Jane and Art's daughter, Patrice, passed away after a long illness. Patty was always a light in their lives and things were never quite the same for them after she passed. The blessings of their family helped to give them joy to move through the rest of their long lives.
In retirement, Jane and Art enjoyed their time together following the Phillies and Villanova basketball, gardening, and taking trips to various places around the world. Their lives revolved around family and this continued up to the very end of Jane's long life. She was graced with nine grandchildren: Matthew, Kristen, Kevin, Justine, Patrice, Evan, Justin, Luke and Mark, and eight great grandchildren, Matthew, Grace, Logan, Connor, Rhett, Christopher, Jason & Nicholas.
We will be forever grateful for all of the love and sacrifice that our mother, Jane, has given to our family. We will miss spending time and talking with her, while holding the knowledge that we will see her again.
Jane is survived by sons Arthur (Suzanne), Joseph (Julie), daughters Marcia (James) and Lisa (Steven), her nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Jane is preceded in death by her daughter, Patrice Ann (James Murphy), and her husband, Arthur.
