Leonard
d. Jan 3, 2024
Jim E. Leonard, 76, of Oxford, PA, passed away on January 3, 2024. Born on November 21, 1947, in Media, PA, Jim was known for his generous spirit and willingness to lend a helping hand. He will be deeply missed by his loved ones.
Jim grew up in Media and enjoyed exploring the area with his friends and siblings. He grew up spending summers in Cape May and enjoyed the beaches there throughout his life. He spent 25 years in Glenolden with his wife where they raised their two children. He later moved and spent 28 years in their beautiful home in Oxford, PA.
Jim, also known as James Edward Leonard, served his country with honor as a Lance Corporal in the US Marine Corps from 1969 to 1971. After his military service, he pursued a career as a machinist at Uff Machine Shop for 26 years and later became a facilities manager at Genesis Health Care for 25 years.
Outside of work, Jim had a variety of hobbies that brought him joy. He had a passion for collecting coins and historical memorabilia, and he took great pride in his koi pond and the beautiful gardens surrounding his home. Jim also had a love for old westerns, particularly those featuring John Wayne.
Jim is survived by his children, Sheri Keen (Collin) of Norwood and James Leonard (Jennifer) of Toughkenamon. He was a loving grandfather to Haylee, Sydney, Presley, and was admired by his step-grandchildren Hallie, Caleb, and Ethan. Jim was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Angela, as well as his parents, James and Edna, and his brother, Joe.
Friends and relatives are invited to Jim's visitation on Wednesday, January 10 from 12-1 pm at Rigby Hagan & Harting Funeral Home, 15 E. 4th Street in Media. Services to follow at 1 pm.
