James Allen Hinchliffe, "Sonny", age 78, of Nottingham, PA died suddenly on June 13, 2022. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle and brother.  Sonny will be deeply missed.

The son of the late George and Elsie Hinchliffe, Sonny was born and raised in Chester, PA.  He was a graduate of Eddystone High School Class of 1962 and served in the US Army as a Green Beret.  Mr. Hinchliffe started his own construction company, 202 Construction, where he worked as a carpenter for his entire career.

Sonny was a lover of animals.  He took care of stray cats and loved feeding birds and wildlife. He had a great sense of humor.  No matter what life brought him, he always had a joyous spirit.  He would help anyone who asked.  Sonny attended Union Gospel Missionary Church.  He found it important to preach the gospel and witness to all people he spoke to. You rarely saw Sonny without his Bible which he read daily. He loved shopping at BB's and would always give any item in his cart to another shopper if they commented on it, even if it was the last one.

In addition to his parents, Sonny was preceded in death by his sister, Nancy Hickey.

Mr. Hinchliffe is survived by his wife of 53 years, Yong Soon Hinchliffe "Susie"; son James Allen Hinchliffe, Jr. (Angela) of Carlisle, MA; and two grandchildren Christopher James Hinchliffe & Natalie Elizabeth Hinchliffe.  He is also survived by siblings Robert Hawkins Hinchliffe of Middletown, Elsie Dunn of Brookhaven, Alberta Hinchliffe of Glen Mills, Vera Liott (James) of Claymont, Connie Richardson (Rocco) of Boothwyn and Dorothy Stanton (Robert) of Wallingford.

Sonny's funeral services will be held at the Rigby Harting & Hagan Funeral Home on Monday evening, June 20, 2022.  There will be a visitation from 6-8 pm with a service at 8:00 pm.  There will be a graveside service on Tuesday at 11:00 am at Lawncroft Cemetery  1000 W. Ridge Rd, Linwood, PA.
