Clark, Jr.

James J. Clark, Jr., a longtime resident of Newtown Square, PA and more recently of Lima Estates in Middletown, died peacefully on June 14, 2025.
Born and raised in Philadelphia, Jim was the son of the late Dolores (nee Kane) and James J. Clark, Sr. He was a graduate of Cardinal Dougherty Catholic High School and graduated from LaSalle University in 1965 with a degree in Accounting. Upon graduating, Jim enlisted in the United States Army and became a First Lieutenant stationed in Seoul, Korea & Phoenix, AZ. He began working with James Turtle Accounting in 1972, and after five years he went on to start his own firm, James J. Clark, CPA, which he operated until his retirement in 2010.
Jim was the beloved husband of Bonita "Bonnie" Clark and a loving and devoted father and grandfather. Jim and Bonnie spent 55 wonderful years together raising their daughters, Terry and Cathy, and exploring the world. He was a parishioner at St. Mary Magdalen Church in Media for 45 years. He was the leader of the SMM Pastoral Council for six years and, with Bonnie, they were a dedicated couple to the WWME – Marriage Encounter for 43 years. A true follower of Christ, Jim generously and anonymously donated to people in need.
He was one of Notre Dame Football's biggest fans and a major history buff. He spent summers in Avalon, NJ where he loved to fish, especially with his daughter, Cathy, and nephews, Mark and Mike. Jim took cooking classes at the Restaurant School. He shared his love of cooking with his family making them meals they'll always remember.
Jim was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Theresa Clark Calvert. In addition to his wife, Bonnie, he is survived by his daughter, Cathryn Ann Clark, of Wayne, PA and two grandchildren, William C. Calvert and James T. Calvert. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, Michelle Gailliout Jackson, Mark Gailliout, Michael Gailliout, Jon Brisar, Caroline Brisar Chavez, Chris Brisar, James Gilbert, Allison Gilbert Varano, and Melissa Gilbert Stuk along with a host of great-nieces and great-nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am on Friday, June 20th at St. Mary Magdalen Church, 2400 N. Providence Rd. Media, PA. There will be a calling in the church from 10-11 am. Burial will follow Mass at SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery.
