James V. Burns, Jr., age 91, a longtime resident of Media, PA and Cape May, NJ, died at home on March 21, 2022 surrounded by his family. Beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Mr. Burns was born in Philadelphia to the late Eleanor (nee Meeker) and James Burns. He graduated from Bartram High School before joining the U.S. Air Force and serving in Alaska. He was proud of his time in the service.

James settled in the Media area and worked as a building inspector for both the City of Philadelphia and Middletown Twp., Delaware County. He was an avid reader, enjoyed cross word puzzles and time spent at the beach. He adored his grandkids and shared his love of fishing with them.

James was preceded in death by his former spouse, Lorraine Burns.

He is survived by his children Kathleen Brown (Kevin) of Media, Linda Christiansen (Peter) of Media, Connie Degler (Keith) of Oxford, and James Burns (Rozan) of Maryland along with 9 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his friend and companion, Betty Bickley.
