Jacquelin (Jackie) Mary Dowd was born on May 18, 1927 in Patterson, NJ.  Her parents, Peter and Frances Sartori, were Sicilian immigrants. They instilled in Jackie the value of hard work and being proud of what one can accomplish. With that upbringing Jackie graduated from East Patterson in 1945, which meant her high school education was book ended by World War II. For her first job, she boarded the train to Manhattan, NY where she worked as an executive secretary to the president of Steuben Glass (her favorite job!) commuting from Patterson daily.  On that ride she met Robert (Bob) Joseph Dowd along with a group of people that sang four part harmony on the ride home every work day. Bob and Jackie were married in 1952.  They moved to Philadelphia with Bob's company and Jackie ran the home (not an easy job) until 1975 when she became secretary to the board of the Associated Auxiliary at the Riddle Hospital. If you need something done, "Talk to Jackie". She held that position through 11 board presidents, typewriters to desk top computers and 23 years, retiring in 1998.

Jacquelin is survived by children Bobby, Kathie and Timmy and her brother Dominic Sartori.  There are many grandchildren, great grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews who dearly miss this tough-proud-loyal-loving lady.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 21, 2022 at St. Mary Magdalen Church. 2400 N. Providence Rd. Media, PA 19063. There will be a calling from 12 - 1 pm. Mass will begin at 1 pm.
