Irene Hunter, a compassionate person whose heart knew no bounds when it came to animals, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, January 17,2026 at the age of 76.

From the smallest stray to her beloved cat Ralphie, Irene believed that every animal deserved kindness, safety and love.

Beyond her love for animals, Irene will be remembered for her kindness, infectious laugh and hilarious story telling ability.  Irene touched many lives - human and animal alike.  An avid doll collector, Irene became an expert at the restoration of antique dolls.

Irene is survived by her son Gerald Murdock, sister, Barbara Marks; sister-in-law Mary Binder and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.  Irene is predeceased by her husband Lowell, parents Ruth and Howard Binder Sr. and brother Howard Binder Jr.

In honor of Irene's lifelong devotion to animals, donations may be made to the Providence Animal Center in Media PA in her memory.
